Skipping Does Not Make It Over
The more the scene tries to skip, the more the middle returns.
Skip sounds like a brake
"We skipped a lot" pushes the scene toward ending, but it is not a clean deletion. It sounds like fatigue.
The middle has not vanished
"There is still the middle" makes the shortcut fail. What has been omitted still leaves a mark.
The puppet play matters through being skipped
Even if it is not fully performed, the question of skipping it becomes part of the film's residue.
